Sponsored Children Five children are supported to live at Caminul Felix orphanage, some since 2000. All of these children have had a difficult and varied past, but it does not appear to be preventing them from growing and developing in health and maturity with the right support. Three were rescued from abandonment in the hospital and the fourth was actually living at the hospital due to contracting Hepatitis B on several occasions. The most recent addition to Caminul Felix went to a family in December 2007. Through Fundatia Speranta Familiei, he was previously fostered to live with an elderly lady, but as he grew up, she wanted more for him and recognised that he needed a family.

A further two sisters were found at home looking after each other because their parents had turned to alcohol and sold all of their possessions. Through sponsorship and extended family support they have been given the opportunity of a stable life and the eldest has since obtained the necessary grades and has graduated at University. Alcoholism is a common problem for some of the parents who struggle with poverty, although there is one charity organisation in Oradea that has been dealing with this problem since 1996.
