Hospice Emanuel (www.emanuelhospice.org)
This facility is based in Oradea to provide palliative care to terminally
ill children and adults in their own homes and to provide support to families
during this time and following bereavement.
Hope for the Family have supported
them by providing two syringe drivers and a good second hand car to replace
the one that regularly broke down. It also provides the salary for a paediatric
nurse.
Since 2005 about thirty children are sponsored to go on
an annual summer camp in the mountains, where they have a great time with siblings
and some family members in the sun and fresh mountain air, playing games,
doing craft work, singing round a camp fire and just resting. Each year children
have benefited from this special activity, however, for some of them it may
be the last holiday that they ever have. Others have lost family members or siblings.
